Marius Geantă is President and Co-Founder of the Center for Innovation in Medicine, a non-governmental organisation based in Bucharest, Romania, focused on innovation in the healthcare sector. The aim of the Center for Innovation in Medicine is to shorten the time between the emergence of innovations in the medical sector and their application so that they can benefit patients both in Romania and elsewhere.

In the context of Romanian Presidency of EU Council 2019, The Center for Innovation in Medicine proposed the vision paper “A new vision for cancer in Europe: data, technology and human touch” to be included in the EU Beating Cancer Plan. In May 2020, as part of the Europan Consultation on EU Beating Cancer Plan, The Center for Innovation in Medicine lanched a the position paper “How to use the innovation as a cohesion factor in order to close the East-West gap in cancer”. In august 2020, The Centre for Innovation in Medicine organised a consultation on the Cancer Mission Board Interim Report with all relevant PAGs.
Marius Geantă is a pioneer in the field of personalised medicine in Romania and Central Eastern Europe and is involved in some pan-European innovative healthcare projects, such as Information Technology: The Future of Cancer Treatment, DigiTwins Consortium, International Consortium for Personalised Medicine, Public Health Genomics Network, PECAN, Building Blocks for Personalised Medicine.
As President of the Centre for Innovation in Medicine, Marius is the coordinator of “State of Innovation in Medicine” Annual Report and the organiser of the high-level events Science meets Politicians (in partnership with Romanian Parliament) and Personalised Medicine Conference (two editions in partnership with Romanian Presidential Administration).
Marius Geantă has more than 15 years of experience and expertize in the field of health and science communication as editor in chief and publisher of many medical journals and health communication platforms. As expert in the field of health innovation, Dr. Marius Geantă is usualy invited by the mainstream media (TV, radio, websites) to discuss topics of interest – he has more than 200 interviews in the context of Covid-19 pandemic.
The oncology-focused campaign “Let’s differently speak about cancer” was launched în December 2017 aiming to increase the cancer literacy of Romanian citizens and patients and to disseminate cancer innovations. The launch of the campain was catalysed by the data from “Attitudes and Perceptions about Cancer” national survery conducted by Centre for Innovation and specialised agency IMAS every 2 years starting April 2016.
